Quick Facts & Vehicle Details:

1989 Porsche 930 Slantnose Targa 7,000 original miles.

One of eight built Guards Red paint Champagne leather interior Chromed Fuchs wheels ALL records, books, manuals, tools, EXTENSIVELY optioned! With only 7,000 original miles, this Targa is far and away one of the nicest in the country.  With its stack of original paperwork, it’s one of the most documented. The slantnose FACTORY conversion makes it one of the rarest.

This car isn’t cheap, but it’s about as far from ordinary as you’ll find in a Porsche. The M505 flachbau option was every bit of 30 grand when new, and that was just the start. This car was originally purchased by Anthony Sbarro (of the Sbarro Pizza restaurants) and he wanted a Porsche for the ages. First, he kept ALL of the paperwork from the worksheets through the European delivery papers to the window sticker to the bill of sale. This is a FULLY documented car. Second, he and only seven other people ordered a stantnose Targa in ’89, so rarity is a huge factor here.  Third, he picked a couple of really rare options.  Normal extras include the Hi-Fi stereo, the limited slip differential, the factory cassette radio, the short shift lever and velour carpeting in the trunk.  Sport seats were a no-cost option here, and they’re a little more special with their red piping.  The Light Rootwood dash is seldom seen, as is the leather shift knob. Off-the-charts-rare items include the optional center console, the lit vanity mirror and the electronic boost gauge in the dash…that sucker was over $1000 by itself!

The car also features a couple of items which weren’t standard Special Wishes fare but are nonetheless on the bill of sale. The first is the big RUG exhaust system straight from the BTR.  Next up is a full Alpine stereo with a high quality head unit.  Porsche wasn’t as big on chrome as Anthony was, and these were done before delivery day.  They’re small items which make a huge difference in appearance.  This is an extremely rare car with volumes of paperwork and very low miles, and that’s the perfect storm for a collector.
